According to the American agency AP, citing its sources, on March 16 in Seattle, a person will be given the first experimental vaccine against the COVID-19 virus.
The study was conducted at the Washington Research Institute in Seattle. For testing, we selected 45 healthy volunteers aged 18 to 50 years who had not yet had time to get sick or become infected with a new virus. National health officials said it would take at least 18 months to fully validate the vaccine and its side effects, but the government is pushing for it as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, dozens of research groups are also looking for their own solutions to the problem using different types of vaccines: vaccinations created using new technologies; injections that would protect people's health during the epidemic (a month or two).
The research vaccine is called mRNA-1273; a new, faster, manufacturing method was used to create it. The vaccine does not contain any part of the actual coronavirus and cannot cause infection. Instead, it includes brief information on the primary structure of the proteins (RNA matrix).
